Speak Up!’s response to the allegations against ETH female guest professor published by NZZ

We recently posted about an article published by NZZ concerning a female guest professor at ETH. In response to this article, we contacted NZZ who originally agreed to publish our critical letter. They later decided to retract their decision and consequently the article remains unchallenged. We are deeply concerned that such a reputable news outlet can publish what we consider to be inaccurate and harmful content without facing repercussions.

Five professors from D-ARCH released a statement protesting that the defamatory article is still online without correction. As they state, the professor’s name is mentioned eight times, combined with false facts and omissions. They “consider the article an attack on Samia Henni’s academic integrity and personal safety as well as damaging to the reputation of the entire Department of Architecture.” We at Speak Up! are surprised that ETH Zurich has yet to take an official position on this case.
